In the early game, his 1st ability makes last hits easier, and its lightning also damages enemies.
Using it too often drains your mana quickly. Be smart about it, for example by using it only for last hits that are hard to get.
Use his ult to finish off dying enemies, or use it before a team fight starts, since it also gives vision of the enemies.
